Lauren Barwick
Canadian Paralympian,
4-Star Parelli Instructor

In June 2000, I was involved in an accident while working on a ranch that left me paralyzed from the waist down. After less than nine weeks of rehabilitation – with support from family and friends a pure love of riding – I began my career of competitive riding.

I moved to Colorado and Florida to study the Parelli Method of Natural Horsemanship and applied it to Dressage. I have since won a gold and silver medal with my horse Malie at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, and I qualified for the 2010 World Equestrian Games and I am preparing for the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Meeting Pat Parelli and learning his method transformed me; I became more emotionally and mentally fit. I realized ther was so much to learn, about myself and my relationship with my horse. When I started studying Parelli, everything just clicked.

I am currently a
Parelli 4-Star Senior Instructor
and one of Pat’s Proteges at his Natural Horsemanship International Study Center in Florida.
